Blog Entry #2

For my individual project I researched the invention of the eraser. I learned that the original eraser, while still working, didn't work to well. It crumbled a lot as well as having other problems. They had to find a way to make the invention stronger, which came in the process of Vulcanization. This helped me learn that even if our JPL project works, there are always ways we can fix things and make it better.

The things that are going well is that my team has our plan finalized and we have gathered most of the supplies. We have also started to build the base and start assembling. The things that are not going well is that we have just started putting things together. We barely have anything put together and it is going very slow.

In the upcoming weeks I think we will run into multiple problems, concerning the construction and adjustments needed for our device to work properly. I am sure that we will need to rework things and find solutions to problems that occur. I think the pulley system and constant force spring will need adjustments, as well as the stabilization of the PVC pipe after it has been lifted upright.

Something that is happening in my life right now, is that I'm applying to college. My hope is to get into The School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. I am planning to get a combined degree, majoring in Interdisciplinary Fine Arts and Applied Physics.
